This will help you draw your manga professionally and quickly, scene by scene, without wasting time. Today, I'll show you how I draw practically, using pictures and the steps I use. All it takes is a little focus and perseverance to create organized, neat, and attractive manga pages. All you need is a tablet or paper and a pen, and you can start applying right away. Let's draw together!

First step
The first step we take in drawing manga scenes is to determine the first page with the appropriate work size according to the project, then we add the ”frame”, which is a rectangle that covers the middle of the page, and we will draw all the scenes of the page on it later.
Step two
The next step is to divide the page into the manga scenes that will appear on it, based on the script you wrote. For example, here I divided the page into five scenes, and in the fourth rectangle, I dragged it down slightly to add visual movement within the page and to organize the visual sequence of the scene.
Step three
Before starting to draw, it is necessary to add dialogue bubbles inside each scene to indicate the location of the dialogue and not cover it with character drawings. This step is necessary to coordinate manga scenes professionally and ensure that the page is not crowded.
Next, we add the text inside the speech bubbles after copying it from the word processing program we are using. Then, we add the text to Photoshop to adjust the font size and position. After that, we copy the entire page and paste it into... Clip Studio Paint program To continue the work.
Now we move on to the sketching stage, where we draw a preliminary sketch of each character and background within the manga scenes using blue to define facial features, angle of view and expressions, and green to define body shape and character position within the scene.
Step four
In this important step, we add a new layer in a light red color and draw the fine details and define the features of the characters more clearly than in the previous stage, while drawing basic lines for the clothes and accessories in a simplified way so that we can prepare for inking.
Viewing the layers
Here you can see the method of arranging the layers that I use while working on manga scenes, where I name the layers clearly such as: “Drawing a face”, “Drawing a body”, “Backgrounds”, “Dialogue balloons”, with coloring each layer a different color to make it easier to organize and control the work while moving between layers.
Step five
Now we move on to the inking stage. First, as usual, we thin the sketch layer so that the lines appear faintly, then we start using the inking pen to draw over the previous lines with firm and clear lines.
To ensure ease of use, I arrange the layers as follows:
- A special layer for hair: In this layer, we draw all the details of the characters' hair, whether it is bangs or flying strands.
- Body layer: In this layer, we draw the body and basic clothing of each character individually.
- A layer for accessories: We add jewelry such as buttons, earrings, and clothing embellishments.
Step six
In this step you will notice how I added details of accessories for the mother in one of the manga scenes, where I added buttons to the clothes, embellishments to the neck area, and earrings to make the character appear more attractive.
How to add toons to manga and webtoons for clothing
After finishing the inking, we can add shadows using different shades of gray or tones. Place shadows under the chin, on the edges of the face, and under clothing and hair to add dimension to the scene.
After finishing the shadows, we add simple or complete backgrounds depending on the importance of the scene. You can use ready-made backgrounds to save time on some pages.
Thus we have completed today’s lesson on how to draw manga scenes and add accessories to characters within the drawings. As mangaka, we all know the importance of these additions to clothing or jewelry, because this helps us add many precise details to our drawings.
And the best thing about all of this is that these additions are ready-made brushes, so all we had to do was choose the appropriate accessory, whether it was an earring or a shirt button, and then draw it directly over the desired place.
