Welcome to a new tutorial! In this tutorial, we'll learn how to color long hair using Clip Studio Paint. Long hair requires different coloring techniques than short hair because it occupies more space on the character and can take up extra effort. Therefore, we'll learn the easiest method, which I use consistently. Let's get started!.

First step
Before we begin the process of shading and coloring long hair, we need to determine the direction of the shadows and highlights, as follows:
- Add a new layer using New Raster Layer.
- Selecting the pen tool (Pen Tool > G-Pen) In red.
- Draw guidelines to determine the path of hair shading.

Step two
Now it's time to color and shade the anime hair, and these are the steps:
- We reduce the visibility of the guideline layer by minimizing Opacity To approximately 20%.
- We add a new layer for shading (Raster Layer).
- We choose a shade darker than the base color from Color Wheel.
- We use a tool Pen > G-Pen We start coloring from the bottom up, especially from the ends of the hair.

Step three
We repeat the process again, but this time from the top of the head, and we will start drawing lines as before, but from top to bottom:
- We stay in the same hair shading layer.
- Using G-Pen.
- We draw from top to bottom with quick lines.
- We follow the same hair strand lines for a more stunning result.

Step four
After drawing the shading lines from top to top, we will draw in the opposite direction:
- We remain G-Pen.
- We begin by drawing lines from the middle of the end of the first shadow, and we move the lines upwards.

Note: Avoid straight shading
When coloring and shading long hair, it is important to move the lines in a wavy way, so that we get a natural shading that resembles the hair of anime characters.
In the image below, you will notice that we have used the same guidelines that define the path of shading the hair. In each part of the hair, we shade differently.

Step five
At this stage, we add a shade darker than the first shade, but only to a limited extent:
- We add a new layer.
- We define a tool G-Pen.
- We choose a darker shade than the first shade.
- We draw lines only at the ends of the hair.

Step six
Now we will add highlights or shine to the hair, in areas where the hair's base color is present, while reducing the size of the pen:
- We choose a lighter shade than the hair color.
- We add a new layer.
- We remain G-Pen We draw the lines as before.

Step seven
You can also use the tool Eraser > Soft Eraser By subtly erasing highlights, you'll notice the difference in the final result, as the hair will appear with a natural shine. You can also apply this technique to shadows to add subtle details.

Final result
This concludes the previous steps, and this is the current result we have achieved. We can add more aesthetic effects later.

Optional step
You can add a gradient shading effect using the airbrush, by following these steps:
- Stay on the base shadow layer.
- Defining the area via Selection Tool > Lasso or Auto Select.
- Choose a color that is slightly darker than the base shade.
- to set AirBrush > Soft.
- Gradually coloring the left or lower section of the hair.

Other additions
Finally, after applying all the steps, you will see how coloring long hair has become easier and more beautiful, with clear color shades and neat strands, in addition to the beautiful shine that adds a professional touch to the painting.
You can also add some visual effects such as:
- Flying strands (using G-Pen (on a new layer).
- Subtle shine and luster (with a brush) Glow dodge (On an Overlay or Add Glow layer).
